ElainaLoveThis interview took a surprising turn for me when I found out a few minutes before that Elaina’s son had been diagnosed with Leukemia. We spoke quite a bit about that and how she dealt with it and that her ex-husband is not raw and the choices made and still being made. Fascinating and open interview.

Alissa CohenFormer co-host and originator of Rawkin’ Radio is back! We’ve finally gotten together to share what’s going on in the life of Alissa Cohen. Some of the questions asked are:

What’s been happening?
Are you still back on the West Coast?
What’s the name of your new restaurant and when is it opening?
Whatever happened with your dehydrator?
You don’t seem to hang out much in the “raw community” but go about your own business…
What do you eat now?
How does Dennis feel about starting a new restaurant?
When’s your new book coming out and what’s it about?

Join us and catch up with one of the leading raw food advocates in the world!

Paul NisonHAD to ask Paul about his wife Andrea’s pregnancy; home-birth, food program, exercise and more. Then we got to talking about his new book, “The Daylight Diet” which will be up on this site when it’s available on Amazon. We spoke about what prompted him to write it; how to deal with hunger at night; raw junk food; emotional eating, water, what kind?

Anthony Anderson aka <a href=Raw Model Delightful interview running longer than usual. He (and I) had thoughts on permaculture and how the people of this nation need to transition to taking more responsibility for their food and their health; homeschooling; eating fats and what kind, training.. and more. We spoke about his food program; why and how he transitioned to raw; how to BE raw living in cold country, his blog/sites and where he’s going and what he’s doing. I really loved this line: “Nature’s a buffet”. Yes, it is. You’ll enjoy this.

Raw Chef Frank GiglioIn this interview we speak with Frank about his training, experience, how long he’s been “cheffing”; why and how he went from the usual culinary path to vegetarian and raw. We chatted about his running experience, cross-training, diet and more. Also, his new book is out, “Raw for All” which you can purchase on his website.

images2 Many have told me I should interview Bruce Horowitz and I found him as a “friend” on FaceBook and asked if he’d be willing. He was so, we spoke about how he began with raw having Crohn’s disease; the importance of community; whether he eats at set times or “grazes” throughout the day. We also spoke about permaculture and growing one’s own food. We spoke about certain issues such as cabbage moths and slugs (duck deficiency) and the complex systems of nature. My final questions to him were about the raw food movement, crisis and sustainability.

You can find Bruce at his websites: The Sun Kitchen and Raw Permaculture.

I heard Dr. Latham speak at Agape a few weeks before doing this interview. He’s been around for quite some time yet, not many who are new to the raw/living food world know who he is. He’s been eating this way for almost 30 years. At the presentation his assistant made the most delicious “savory pie”. It was incredible to have greens in the pie. The combination was amazing.

One of the things I had to ask Dr. Latham was, “Since you have someone who makes your food, do you eat this way every day?” You’ll find the answer in this interview.

More on Dr. Latham:

DR. ARIS LATHAM has been a ‘raw foodist’ for the past 28 years. He has catered raw and vegetarian food all over the world, including for the U.S. Congress and major stars like Lauryn Hill, Cecile Tyson, Erykah Badu, Sidney Poitier, and Ben Vereen all vegetarians. Dr. Aris LaTham explains what the raw food diet is all about.

Dr. Aris LaTham has a Master’s degree in Linguistics and a Ph.D. in Food Science. He has been featured on major television stations in the United States (ABC & NBC), and major publications (Essence magazine, Time magazine, Vegetarian Times). He has done seminars for the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) and has done consultations for Strawberry Hill, Swept Away and the Golden Door, a spa in the United States and Mexico. Dr. LaTham currently lives and works in St. Mary and teaches food preparation courses, has chef/cook training, offers assistance in detoxifying the individual and kitchen (ridding the kitchen of toxic substances and restocking it with healthful food), and runs a spa.

Enjoy!

I always enjoy chatting with Victoria Boutenko. This time I managed to catch her in her booth at Raw Spirit Festival without a crowd around her. We spoke about her latest research and what she’s doing now. Changes she’s making; thoughts, ideas and experiences she’s confirmed, tweaked or softened. At one point, I had to ask the question that she said people talk more about than all the research she has done. Listen in to find out what that question is, and the answer to it.

Enjoy!

Before hearing Dr. Graham speak at the Raw Spirit Festival, I’d heard many things about his 80/10/10 diet. It sounded to me like something that would be REALLY difficult to maintain, too low in fats, etc. After hearing him speak all I could say was “He really makes sense”. I immediately went and purchased two books ~ “The 80/10/10 Diet, Balancing Your Health, Your Weight, and Your Life, One Luscious Bite at a Time” and “The New High Energy Diet Recipe Guide “. Dr. Graham makes being raw and being healthy soooo easy. You don’t really have to think about it.

This was so good, we went longer than our usual half hour and covered, bloating, supplements, individual differences, cleansing, FAT!, fasting, organic vs. conventional produce, fear of fruit, sprouting and SO much more.

You might also want to check out my blog where I mention something he wrote about germs causing disease. Fascinating!
